Membership Benefit Alert!

Because we value arts and culture as one of our core pillars, Forum 35 has partnered with Baton Rouge Gallery to offer an exclusive benefit to Forum members! Active Forum members will be granted free admission to each screening of the BRG's summer film series, Movies & Music on the lawn. Plus, for every screening a member attends, their name will be put into a drawing for a FREE Baton Rouge Gallery membership to be given at the end of the summer. For this month's screening, the first 100 members to sign in will get a gift bag from the gallery, so arrive early! While new, veteran, and prospective members are welcome to join us for our social, only active members will recieve free admission to this event. Tickets are $7 for the general public and can be purchased online or at the door. Read below for more information!

More information on Movies & Music on the Lawn

Baton Rouge Gallery's popular summer film series, Movies & Music on the Lawn, will once again pair up iconic silent films with the best local, contemporary bands in our area. Each band will perform a never-before-heard score, live, while the film is projected on a huge inflatable outdoor screen on the lawn behind the gallery.

The screenings, which will take place towards the end of the month (May - October) begin at 8 p.m. (or sundown – whichever comes last). Admission is free for active Forum 35 members, while the general public is charged $7 per screening. Free popcorn is provided for all attendees!

This year's series once again offers a diverse slate of both films and bands, allowing you six distinct experiences that will blend the best silent films of all time with the best local music of this time. There will be slapstick comedies, a romance, a Hitchcock thriller, one of the very first and most enduring horror films and a unique "Kids Night" (which will offer multiple different short films that'll appeal to kids of all ages).

Musically, this year's series offers everything from a groove-powered soul machine to one of America's top sludge metal bands, from a chamber rock six-piece to an indie singer-songwriter duo. The series always works to offer you intriguing pairings of visuals and sounds and the breadth of this year's musicians will give audiences a truly unique look at both local music and silent-era classics.
