You've seen their trucks around town, now come learn about what they do! Join Forum Friday as we welcome Mike Manning, President and CEO of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. The Food Bank has been working for over 25 years to solve hunger in our community.

In Louisiana, our poverty rate is one of the nation's highest, at just over 18 percent. According to Feeding America, almost 1 in 4 children in Louisiana are living in poverty. Twenty-three percent of Louisiana's children suffer from food insecurity. Thanks to the work of organizations like the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and their community partners, those suffering from hunger have some help. The Greater Baton Rouge Food bank distributes almost 10 million pounds of food per year and serve 11 parishes. Through their recently launched mobile food pantry program, food deserts in Baton Rouge will hopefully become a thing of the past.
