As Service Committee's monthly service project, we have chosen the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, where hot lunches and brown bag dinners are served daily to the underprivileged. The Dining Room is the largest mass-feeding facility in the Baton Rouge area, and serves an average of 250 lunches daily. In order for the facility to feed all of these people, they need OUR help. Please consider volunteering your lunch break to help serve meals to the less fortunate in Baton Rouge.
This year we will be splitting the duties with another organization, so we only need 4 volunteers. Please only sign up if you will definitely be there because they rely on us for everything to run smoothly. Doors open promptly at 11:30, so please arrive at 11am to get the food line set up and ready to go. We will finish serving at 1pm, when you're free to leave. If food is left over, you are welcomed to enjoy a hot lunch with the other volunteers. This is an incredibly rewarding experience, so I hope you can spare 2 hours of your day to give back to the community.
