Forum 35’s Learning on Location Initiative Supports Field Trips

BATON ROUGE – Forum 35’s Public Education Project (PEP) committee’s Learning on Location project sent two classes on field trips this spring.

The classes, from North Banks Middle School and Northeast Elementary School, visited BREC’s Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center and the Louisiana Art and Science Museum, respectively.

PEP Chair Candace Parker said, “The Public Education Project Committee is grateful that we could provide the Learning on Location grants to send a class from Northeast Elementary and North Banks Middle on a field trip. Funding at some schools is limited due to many factors so we want to help out. The purpose of the field trips is to provide an opportunity to enhance their current grade level curriculum. We believe that field trips expose the kids to learning experiences that they could never duplicate in the classroom. We enjoyed seeing the kids' faces light up with so my joy and anticipation.”
