Registration is now open for Forum 35's Reindeer Run and Jingle Bell Jog 2014
Do you hear the bells? It must mean registration is now open for Forum 35's Reindeer Run and Jingle Bell Jog 2014, and this year event organizers are offering a special discount for Christmas in July. The fun, flat races will take place Dec. 5, 2014 -- at the same time as downtown's Festival of Lights to ring in the holiday season in Baton Rouge.
Early bird registration is now open for just $20 for runners ages 6 to 17 and only $25 for runners ages 18 and up. Every runner who registers by Nov. 13 is guaranteed a shirt in their size. See this year's great shirt design by going to www.reindeerrunbr.com.
Use the discount code XMASJULY to earn 20 percent off race registration during our Christmas in July promotion through July 31, 2014.
Keeping with the holiday spirit, Forum 35 will again be working with the United States Marines' Toys for Tots program, so all participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to this great program. (But please, no weapon toys.) Checks written out to "Toys for Tots" will also be accepted for donations.
The Reindeer Run is a 5k race with a great route that brings runners through downtown Baton Rouge and around the Capitol and offers a fun opportunity to get a jump-start on those New Year's resolutions to get fit. The 1-mile Jingle Bell Jog is especially fun for those youngsters who haven't yet graduated to the 5k or for anyone looking to warm up before the longer race.
The 1-mile Jingle Bell Jog begins at 7 p.m. on race day, and the 5k will begin at 7:20 p.m.
Early bird registration prices will be valid through Oct. 1 when fees are $25 for runners ages 6 to 17 and $30 for runners ages 18 and up. On Dec. 4 and 5, registration increases to $30 and $35, respectively, so runners should sign up early and save!
Of course, Forum 35's Reindeer Run and Jingle Bell Jog would not be possible without its sponsors. Special thanks to Beau Box, which is presenting this year's races. Thanks also to Assurance Financial, Capital One, Toastmasters GSU, Advocare Independent Distributor Karla Cormier, Alliance Title, Cosmetic Dentistry of Baton Rouge and Lincoln Builders of Baton Rouge.
Anyone looking to sponsor the Reindeer Run and Jingle Bell Jog or help volunteer at the races can contact email@example.com.
