Forum 35 to Host Discussion on Human Trafficking in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE – Forum 35’s Cultural Diversity Committee will host a discussion on human trafficking September 11 at the Lyceum Ballroom from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The Lyceum Ballroom is located in downtown Baton Rouge at 124 Third Street.

The discussion will be facilitated by Emily Morrow Chenevert, national awareness director with Trafficking Hope, Natalie LaBorde, policy advisor with the Office of the Governor, and Morgan Lamandre, director of advocacy with Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response (STAR).

“Human trafficking is a topic that we have all seen mentioned in the newspaper or on a billboard down I-10, but too many of us know very little about what it means and how it impacts our community here in Baton Rouge – regardless of race, religion, or socio-economic status,” said Cultural Diversity Co-Chair Ashley Cash. “We are creating a safe space where we can have an open discussion as we learn more and pull back the veil on this sensitive issue.”

The discussion is free and open to the public. Prior registration is encouraged and can be found on the Forum 35 website, www.forum35.org, and on the Forum 35 Facebook page, www.facebook.com/forum35.

Forum 35 is a community of young men and women improving Baton Rouge.
