THE REINDEER RODEO
The Reindeer Rodeo is a new program aimed at getting all Reindeer Run lovers involved in promoting Reindeer Run to potential racers by infusing fun and friendly competition into the process. It also allows participants in the program to give discounts to their friends, family, co-workers, etc.
Anyone can participate in the Reindeer Rodeo by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know “you’re in.” You can sign up individually OR as a team of 2. Participants are called the "Reindeer Wranglers.”
A Reindeer Wrangler is a lasso-wielding, cowboy-elf hybrid intent on rounding up as many reindeers for the Reindeer Run as possible.
What will you be given as a Reindeer Wrangler?
1.) Personalized Discount Code - A personalized discount code for 20% off registration price. The default code is “[Your first name] VIP” (ex: “RudyVIP”), but you are welcome to get creative and make up your own code. Just request it in your initial e-mail to us.
2.) Personalized Flyers- Flyer sets will be printed individually for each Reindeer Wrangler with their personalized discount code on it!
3.) A Chance at Fame & Fortune- The one that rounds up the most reindeers (i.e. gets the most people to register using their discount code) will be recognized at the Race and receive a very special award.
The discount code can be given out in any way a Reindeer Wrangler chooses (Facebook, at the gym, at work, Twitter, Instagram, tell your mom, give to your runner friend to give out to his or her runner friends, etc.).
Wranglers will also have the opportunity to participate in the following great ways to round up reindeers:
1.) RUDY Events- RUDY events are events like the Alzheimer’s Walk to Remember where RUDY will be there promoting the run and a group of Reindeer Wranglers will be with him handing out flyers and registering people up.
2.) Group Runs- A group run is a regular run held by a group (running clubs, neighborhood runs, other association runs, etc.). Examples would be Happy’s Running Club, Black Girls Run, etc. Our goal is to have at least one Reindeer Wrangler attend each group run prior to race day to promote Reindeer Run.
