Forum 35 Holds Special Meeting to Present Succession Plan to Membership
BATON ROUGE -Forum 35 held a special meeting of the membership October 6 to publicly announce the resignation of President Kasey Henry and present the leadership succession plan to members for adoption.
Henry accepted a position at a CPA firm that offers a unique focus on nonprofit accounting in her native Texas, and will relocate at the end of October. As such, she stepped down from her role as President. “It was a very hard decision to leave Forum 35 and Baton Rouge, but I could not pass up this professional opportunity. Forum 35 has a phenomenal leadership team who I have no doubt will continue to grow the organization and make a positive impact on our city.”
In her absence, Immediate Past President Eric Dexter will step in to fulfill her six remaining months as President. Kelly Bienn, who was approved by Forum 35’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors as President-Elect in September, was voted on to be preemptively moved into the role. Current President-Elect Bryan Fontenot announced his decision to step down from his role to focus on Forum 35’s Viva il Vino event, which he is co-chairing for 2015.
“This succession plan was discussed among our Executive Committee and with Past Presidents of Forum 35, and we are confident it is the best path going forward. Bryan’s leadership is invaluable in his role as co-chair of Viva il Vino, and Kelly is ready to take the reins,” stated Dexter. “As a member organization, we felt it was important to involve everyone in the discussion and allow the membership to vote to implement the plan. We’re excited to build on the momentum Kasey has developed and wish her the best in Houston.”
The plan was adopted by the membership, and took effect immediately.
