Uncorked Fall Update
Forum 35’s fall Uncorked wine tasting event and competition was held Thursday, November 5, at the Roux House in downtown Baton Rouge. There were over 170 people in attendance, all who enjoyed an evening of fundraising and wine tasting in the Capital City!
At each Uncorked event, teams of 1, 2 or 3 bring 3 matching bottles of the selected varietal of wine for the event. Red Blend was the wine varietal choice for the November 5 event. Upon arrival, 2 of the bottles are bagged and numbered for the blind wine tasting and the remaining bottle is put into the winner’s prize lot.
Attendees tasted wine brought by other participants throughout the night, enjoyed light appetizers and entertainment by The Routh Brothers and heard about the selected charity that will receive half of the proceeds from the event.
City Year Baton Rouge was chosen as the charity partner for the November 5 event. Over $1,900 was raised with proceeds split between Forum 35 and City Year.
Participants voted on their favorite bottle of wine and the winners were announced. The first place team, A Whiner & a Weiner, took home 36 bottles of wine. The second place team, Jennathon, took home 18 bottles of wine. The third place team, Blend & Snap, took home 12 bottles of wine.
