Forum 35 Serves Baton Rouge in February
On Saturday, February 13, Forum 35 volunteers assisted Habitat for Humanity at their brand new location of the Habitat ReStore. From 8am until 3pm, Forum 35 members helped Habitat for Humanity setup their brand new ReStore location (at 10300 Perkins Road). Volunteers set up shelving units; built, fixed, and organized materials; and put shelves out on display for the upcoming grand opening celebration. It was a long day of work, but extremely rewarding.
St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room
As Service Committee's monthly service project, we will continue working with the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, where hot lunches and brown bag dinners are served daily to the underprivileged. The Dining Room is the largest mass-feeding facility in the Baton Rouge area, and serves an average of 350 - 450 lunches daily. In order for the facility to feed all of these people, they need OUR help.
On Wednesday, February 17th, seven Forum 35 volunteers joined community members to serve approximately 420 meals to those in need.
